Pagudpud Escapade

March 2012

At the famed Bangui Windmills

At the famed Bangui Windmills

On the second day of our Ilocos tour, we left Vigan on a gloomy weather. Halfway through our trip, the sun was shining in Laoag. It was a confused weather. I was getting worried since the rain might cancel our Pagudpud tour.

After two hours, we arrived at the bus station in Laoag. It was another two-hour travel in a non-aircon bus going to Pagudpud. On our way, we passed by the Burgos town where the Burgos Lighthouse is located and the Bangui Windmills. Seeing the huge windmills blew me away. It was indeed a feast for the eyes. Unfortunately, we had to go to the Pagudpud town proper first to meet our tour guide.

We arrrived at the Pagudpud townhall where our tour guide, Kuya Angel picked us up with his trike. It was already drizzling so we decided to check in first to our resort and have lunch.

Note: Kuya Angel is Mang Arnel’s nephew (one of the most popular tourist guides in Ilocos). You may call them for reservations and book them early as they are really in demand. The North and South Tour cost Php1500 each – 09069388308
