April 4-5, 2014
To officially begin the summer season and to beat the scorching Manila sun, our company went on a summer outing at La Luz Beach Resort in San Juan, Batangas.
La Luz is a privately owned resort and just recently opened to the public. It is a 4-5 hours drive from Manila via the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Star tollway and a couple of Batangas towns and municipalities. It is a haven away from Manila for those who want to have a quick weekend getaway.
The resort not just boasts its white sand (though more pebble-ish type than sand) but as well as its amenities that are both free and for rent for its guests.
Guests can use the free cabanas and umbrellas while enjoying the stunning view of the ocean. Guests can also rent kayaks or enjoy boating by motorized outrigger boats and yes, by yacht. Other amenities are the volleyball and tug-of-war areas, massage, snorkeling and diving, board games and the bonfire.
La Luz also has a lot of rooms good for different set of guests like families, friends, couples and companies.
It has a total of 10 cottages with 39 rooms. The price range is from 3,000 to 6,000 pesos depending on the number of people the rooms can accommodate as well as the amenities inside.
Our company rented the premier loft rooms with 2 floors having 6 beds (3 each floor), one air conditioner, one fan, separate shower area and toilet and a huge balcony. It is spacious enough to let 9 of us move freely inside and store our bags. The shower area has free liquid soap and shampoo and conditioner and the toilet is equipped with bidet. Another plus point of our room is the speaker made of bamboo. Cool eh!
Dining is also never a problem at the beach. I can assure soon-to-be guests that the food are delicious and plenty. They have at least 3-4 choices of viands per meal, with soup, salad and desserts on the side. The resort has 2 areas where food is served and there are plenty of tables and chairs so no need to worry when there are many guests during your visit. Just make sure to check the time when each meal is served. It is also buffet style so guests can really enjoy the dining, al fresco.
The rates of the meals vary depending on the time of the day – breakfast, lunch, PM snack and dinner. Do not forget to check the rates online or call the resort.
I think I have sold the resort well enough already but I still have few more things to say. So here it goes.
If guests are not yet content with swimming, they can trek the mini rock formation at the side of the resort and take a top view of the surrounding resorts. Walking and jogging are also good especially in the morning. The resort has quite a long shoreline and one should never miss to explore it.
If guests are looking for a quiet time to relax, they can enjoy the nature while having a massage at the cabanas.
I am really impressed with what the resort can offer to its guests. It exceeded my expectations and definitely made it to my list of must-go beach resorts near Manila. I am surely coming back!
