Aside from the Merlion, Marina Bay Sands (MBS) is probably the second most prominent tourist spot in Singapore. My skype picture has the MBS as its background and most of my students easily recognized the place as Singapore.

Towering above buildings nearby, MBS looks like a ship on top of three huge poles. One cannot miss this beautiful architechture as it is seen across the Singapore river, from Clarke Quay to Esplanade.

Marina Bay Sands is a 55-storey integrated hotel which was completed in 2009. From then on, it became one of the iconic places in Singapore. Aside from the casino and hotel, it boasts the ArtScience Museum, Marina Bay Shoppes, SkyPark, Wonder Full, Bay Floral and Sands Expo and Convention Center.

One of the most visited places at the MBS is the Shoppes. It has a huge selection of local and designer clothes, bags and shoes, jewelry and accessories shops, and restaurants. Guests can also try the Venice-themed gondolas.

After visiting the ArtScience Museum and Shoppes, guests can use the connecting bridge from the Shoppes to MBS to Gardens by the Bay. The night view from the connecting bridges are breathtaking.
